to be a BHLC to join us on field trips! Any
homeschooler can register for field trips (unless noted for
members only).
For FREE field trips, you MUST still sign up.

LCT-Tales of the Shimmering Sky

Have you ever looked up at the sky in awe and wondered why the sun comes out at day and the moon at night? What about where rain comes from? Or why it suddenly decides to stop? How about why there’s a man (or hare!) in the moon? Well, wonder no more! Join our storytellers as they reenact beautiful, creative fables about the sky from all around the world. These stories may be more fantasy than fact, but you will forever look at the sky in a whole new light!
Grades: ALL
Tickets: $6.00 per seat

Ugh! Jane’s history buff of a dad is forcing her to accompany him and her pesky little brother on a road trip along Lewis and Clark’s historical expedition route. No cell phones. No friends. Could this trip get any more boring? No way! At least that’s what Jane thinks until...Wait, who is Sacagawea? She was Lewis and Clark’s Native American guide? She spoke how many languages? Wonder what life was like for her on the trail...

If you ask his classmates about Bradley Chalkers they would tell you he ’s a monster. If you mention him to his teachers, they would say he’s a student with serious behavior problems. But if you ask Carla, the new guidance counselor at Red Hill School, she would tell you the truth. Bradley is a fifth grader with no self-esteem, no one to talk to and his bullying is merely a cry for help. With her unconventional methods, Carla attempts to crack open this monster and in the process discovers a heart of gold.
